CCS – together with our partner ADTRAN – feature in a new RAN research and forecast report by Rethink Technology Research, “Small Cells Drive Microwave Backhaul Boom”, which analyses global backhaul trends until 2026, spanning a major period of transition from 4G to 5G in many regions. The report explores the challenges operators face, and examines the critical role of backhaul in delivering MNO competitiveness and the ability to meet rising customer expectations in the 5G era.
Key drivers identified for the boom in microwave backhaul – across the sub 6GHz, 7-40GHz, and 41GHz plus categories – includes expansion in spectrum, greater diversity in use cases, and the projected growth of small cells globally.
The executive summary is available for download and the report is available to license at https://rethinkresearch.biz/reports-category/ran-research/.
