We were delighted to have been recognised by TM Forum, together with our 5G Smart Tourism project partners, for our innovative collaboration demonstrating how 5G technology and virtual and augmented reality can work together to create immersive Smart Tourism services.
CCS, Zeetta Networks, Aardman Animations, BBC R&D and the 5G-Enabled Tourism Experience Catalyst leaders Univerity of Bristol's Smart Internet Lab were presented with a prestigious Media-Telecoms Catalyst Programme award at IBC2019 in Amsterdam, where the team is currently showcasing our ‘Mobile VR in Heritage Location’ use case. At the event, we've been sharing with IBC2019 delegates our success in delivering rich and engaging video-based experiences to users exploring an area of the Roman Baths, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the UK. The project was developed to enable attraction visitors to ‘see’ - via a consumer mobile device - a view of a place as it would have been in the past (more detail here).
