CCS small cell backhaul solution eyes top prize at GSMA Global Mobile AwardsPublished on February 4th 2015 in News
CCS, creator of the world’s first self-organising small cell microwave backhaul system for mobile networks, today announces that it has been shortlisted for a GSMA Global Mobile Award in the category of “Best Mobile Infrastructure”.
The Global Mobile Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 3rd March and hosted by comedy legend and star of Monty Python, John Cleese.
The GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards have recognised excellence and achievement across the mobile world for 20 years. First presented at the GSM World Congress in Cannes in 1996, the awards are one of the most highly sought after awards in the global communications industry, attracting entries from across the world and judged by a panel of independent, highly respected experts. The winners will be announced during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (2nd – 5th March 2015), the mobile industry’s annual gathering of around 70,000 senior industry leaders, executives, media, analysts and influencers.
CCS is delivering the first self-organising small cell backhaul system for outdoor small cell deployment. CCS’ backhaul nodes connect autonomously to form self-organising, self-healing links that dynamically reconfigure to optimise performance and spectral efficiency as Line Of Sight circumstances or traffic levels change, whilst minimising interference. In 2014, CCS celebrated a clutch of industry honours for its world-first solution, including four outright award wins and numerous high profile nominations.
"Congratulations to all the nominees in the 20th Global Mobile Awards,” said Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. “With a new record of over 800 entries, the competition has been greater than ever – reflecting the dynamic pace of growth and evolution across the mobile world. We look forward to celebrating 20 years of mobile achievement and innovation with all the nominees and winners on Tuesday 3rd March, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.”
Commenting on CCS’ shortlisting, CEO and Co-Founder Steve Greaves said: “Beginning 2015 with a GSMA Global Mobile Award shortlisting is a fantastic start to the year, and it’s another great reason to be looking forward to what promises to be a memorable and exciting Mobile World Congress.”
CCS will be exhibiting at the Mobile World Congress in Hall 7 at the UK Pavilion on stand 7B67.
