John co-founded CCS in 2010. He has a successful track record in developing innovative wireless technologies, having previously co-founded Cambridge Broadband Networks and Adaptive Broadband.
As CTO and Board Director at Cambridge Broadband Networks from 2000 to 2010, John was responsible for the development of all the company’s products. Prior to this, he was Chief Scientist and Director at Adaptive Broadband, where he was also responsible for all technical development. Adaptive Broadband was formed as a spin-off from AT&T Laboratories, where John worked in the early part of his career leading its Radio ATM research group. While working for both Cambridge Broadband Networks and Adaptive Broadband, John was granted multiple key patents that represented over 90% of the IPR generated by both companies.
John holds a BSc in Computer Science from Cambridge University, where he also undertook research in ATM networks under the supervision of Professor Andy Hopper.
