Pioneer in self-organising small cell backhaul
CCS (Cambridge Communication Systems) was founded in 2010, with the specific purpose of creating a backhaul system for small cells.
Headquartered in Cambridge, Europe’s most successful tech hub, CCS draws on a rich pool of world-class engineering talent. The team has a successful track record in creating innovative wireless solutions. Our founders, CEO Steve Greaves and CTO John Porter, previously co-founded Cambridge Broadband Networks and Adaptive Broadband. And our board has extensive telecoms experience, from creating start-ups to building large businesses.
Our unique self-organising small cell microwave backhaul system - Metnet - has been trialled by global Tier 1 operators and equipment vendors. The first commercial deployment of the technology was for China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile operator, in one of the first live deployments of outdoor small cells - not just in China, but the world. And we signed a global VAR agreement with Ericsson earlier this year.
We've won global recognition for Metnet, including a Small Cell Forum Industry Award for Backhaul Design and Technology Innovation, an IET Innovation Award for Communications and a World Communication Award for Innovation. These industry accolades are a significant validation of the unrivalled technical and business benefits our system delivers.
CCS is ISO 9001 certified.
